Sakura Cats
Helping to Eliminate the Slaughter of Cats
At Sakura Seiyusho Co., Ltd., we have a few "Sakura Cats" that occasionally show up. These felines are our "part-time employees" who do not work at all. They hate being confined and disappear immediately after eating their food. These cats are strays we've taken in, had neutered at a veterinary clinic and have had their ears cropped to prevent the number of stray cats from increasing. The cropped ears are proof that the cats have been neutered, and coincidentally, they are known as "Sakura Ears."
We tell our Sakura Cats that we will guarantee them a minimum standard of a healthy and comfortable life, but nothing more. They are not allowed to be picky about their food. We hope the more promising ones will help us out when we’re so busy we’d even use a cat's paw.
Sakura Seiyusho Co., Ltd. believes that human lives and cat lives are one and the same, and is committed to protecting cats.
The pitfalls of community cats. Even today, there are people who make a living by capturing cats and turning them into shamisen instruments. If stray cats lose their wariness of humans, they can easily fall victim to such individuals. As sad as it is, we must maintain a certain distance and not overly engage with these cats. This is a necessary measure to ensure their survival.
